Manufacturing has been a key industry in San Angelo since the mid 20th century. Companies located in San Angelo include Hirschfield Industries, West Texas Steel & Supply, and Dragon Products, LLC.  Aermotor Windmill Company, the manufacturer of the iconic American farmhouse windmill, is headquartered in San Angelo. Biomedicals also make up a significant aspect of the manufacturing sector with Ethicon, Inc. being one of the city’s largest employers. Manufacturing is supported by the San Angelo Regional Manufacturer’s Alliance.
