San Angelo’s strategic location at the edge of the Permian Basin, the world’s second most valuable oil field, has made it an advantageous place for oil companies to set up base. Sendero Drilling and Netco Energy’s corporate headquarters are located in San Angelo along with US Well Services’ regional headquarters.

In addition to hydrocarbons, the abundant wind and solar resources of west Texas make the area a prime location for renewables. Wone Solar is based in San Angelo and Chicago-based Invenergy announced that they will be opening a wind farm just east of San Angelo in mid-2019.
